Despite the challenging backdrop of the last few years in education, learners have exceeded all expectations and demonstrated great resilience and character.

The school hall was once again full with delighted learners and equally delighted parents. It was an amazing start to the day filled with emotion and relief.

Almost 80 per cent of learners achieved at grade 4 or above in both English and maths and almost 60 per cent achieved a grade 5 or above in English and maths. There were equally strong performances across all the option subjects.

Lee Cummins, headteacher, said: "Today’s results are truly deserved, the class of 2024 have been a remarkable year group, well done to each and every learner.

"We very much look forward to welcoming many of our learners into our sixth form where they will continue to thrive.

Esther Bradbury, deputy headteacher, added: "We are so proud of the hard work and commitment that our learners have dedicated to the preparation for these examinations. Their focus, organisation and resilience have paid off and this year's results are truly commendable.

"Our learners are now well equipped to move on successfully to the next stage in their education and training and we wish them the very best."
