Chester International School (CIS) is delighted to share its results day celebrations, reflecting the hard work, determination and resilience of students who have faced the two-year challenge of the Middle Years Programme and GCSEs.
Jenna Mason was emotional as she learnt about her five grade 9s and collection of 8s.
Jenna said: "I am so proud of myself, especially my science grades. I am going on to study maths, economics and Spanish."
Learners arrive to CIS in Year 10 and hit the ground running as they undertake their international pathway. The school is proud of its continued success in providing an offer that champions linguistic diversity, with students completing GCSEs across six modern foreign languages.
Student Libby Young said: "I am so proud for challenging myself to do an extra GCSE in Mandarin.
"I have had amazing support from all of the staff throughout my time here and look forward to continuing onto the Diploma Programme in the sixth form’.
Many students achieved impressive individual successes, including those who earned a string of grade 9s.
Luciana achieved five grade 9s and is looking forward to studying the biology and Spanish as part of her IB Diploma Programme in September.
Principal Katrina Brown reflected on this year’s results: “We are proud to bring the IB offer to Chester.
"Our prospective Diploma Students have achieved fantastic GCSE outcomes which will set them up for their sixth form courses. Our vocational route students have secured their grades to embark on an exciting career programme.
"Learners that arrive at CIS with a view to engaging in an international education, love it and do very well here and that’s what it is all about."
The school’s holistic approach, focusing on both academic and personal development, continues to shine through. Many of the successes cannot be measured by a statistic of headline figure. This year’s results highlight the strength of CIS’s diverse curriculum and the dedication of the staff to ensure that every learner has the opportunity to achieve their potential.
