A new academic year is about to begin, and for many students this means transitioning from secondary education to further education. However, for Cheshire College – South & West, it also means welcoming a brand-new cohort of adult students to study at the College’s Campuses at Crewe, Ellesmere Port and Chester.
Cheshire’s largest further education College offers a broad range of courses for 19+ students, including Higher Education, Access to Higher Education, and part-time courses, catering to numerous interests, abilities, schedules, and career goals.
Principal and CEO Jasbir Dhesi OBE says that lifelong learning should be encouraged amongst members of the local community: “Educational development should be inclusive of all ages and abilities, which is why we champion adult education at Cheshire College.
“We understand that it can be intimidating for some people to return to education, which is why we take every step to ensure that an adult student’s learning journey with us is as fun, informative, inclusive and stress-free as possible. Over the years we’ve had really moving feedback about the difference these courses have made to the lives and careers of many of our students.”
As well as part-time courses designed to inspire recreational hobbies and encourage new friendships, the College also has several work-based courses intended to help students change career direction, or update their skills, knowledge and experience in their current field. Areas of study are wide-reaching and include, but are not limited to, hairdressing and beauty, DIY and construction, and hospitality and catering.
Higher Education students at the College are also treated to a university-level experience without the hassle of moving miles away from home. All three Campuses are equipped state-of-the-art resources to facilitate an excellent learning experience: including a £150K hospital training ward, designated Esports rooms, the Digital Hub at Chester Campus, expansive theatres, and art studios. Higher Education students at College also needn’t worry about compromising on a university graduation ceremony, as each year the College celebrates its graduates in a glamorous and exciting ceremony.
Cheshire College is now enrolling students for September 2024. Applicants aged 19 and above can visit Crewe, Ellesmere Port or Chester Campus during the enrolment period to secure their place and begin studying in the new academic year.
