FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle an incident at a popular landmark.
One fire crew attended the scene at the top of Helsby Hill at about 7pm yesterday (Monday, August 26).
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters made their way on foot to the top of Helsby Hill to put out a fire that is believed to have been started deliberately.
"They used beaters and a water backpack to put out the fire.
"The area was then dampened down, with the crew cutting back bushes to ensure there were no hotspots.
"Police were informed."
