A new deli and café serving cheese, wine, Champagne, charcuterie and beer is to open its doors in Chester city centre.

Champagne + Fromage is looking to open its doors on Watergate Street, at the former home of The Antiques Shop.

A licensing application has been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council by HF Viticulture & Wine Ltd.

The applicants say: "The premises will be operated as a delicatessen shop selling artisanal foods and bottled drinks including off-supplies of alcohol, alongside a cafe/bistro offering charcuterie, grazing boards, champagne, wine, cocktails, beer and soft drinks.

"Seating and a service counter will be located inside the premises. A small number of chairs and tables will be provided outside the premises for consumption of food and drinks."

The maximum planned opening hours for the new venue would be 11am-11pm on every day except Fridays and Saturdays, where an application has been made for the premises to open until midnight on those nights.

Also sought within the application is permission for live and recorded music at the premises.
