An Ellesmere Port pub has reopened its doors following a big six-figure revamp.
The Gunners Arms, at the heart of the Stanney Grange area, also has a new team of staff team recruited.
The pub had closed at the end of July to start an extensive refurbishment, with the investment being carefully allocated to enhance the pub's offerings while preserving its natural charm.
Located on Thornton Road, the refurbishment has seen the pub undergo a complete refresh with contemporary décor. The pub will now have major sports channels such as Sky Sports and TNT, with six large TV screens and a projector across the venue.
Pub sport lovers can test their dart and pool skills, thanks to the addition of three practice dartboards accompanying one primary ‘match’ dartboard, complementing the existing pool table, which is free to play all day on Monday.
The additional dartboards will form part of a new darts area where locals are invited to find their inner Luke Littler, while the boards will be complete with pristine LED lighting.
Furry friends are welcome, with the community pub being a popular spot for dog walkers as the pub boards Gunners Park.
The pub reopened on Monday and the new team of staff at the Gunners Arms want to invite everyone in Ellesmere Port down to their local to see the newly renovated pub.
Katie Browse and Tony McKeating, operators of the Gunners Arms, said: “Our new team have loved welcoming back locals to our renovated pub this week, with the transition to Craft Union marking an exciting new chapter for us.
“We believe the refurbishments have enhanced our warm and welcoming atmosphere while developing the community feel of the pub, which was at the heart of our thoughts during the renovations.
“We are confident in our top-class beer range at a competitive price, and with our new range of beers and signature darts area, pool table and range of screens showing all the big matches, we are confident we’ll be the best place to watch and play pub sport in Cheshire.”
The pub's weekly schedule sees quiz night on Monday with special prizes up for grabs, tombola alongside pool league on Tuesday as well as a poker night and ladies darts league on Wednesday.
Thursday will see the men’s darts league take place with Friday hosting a dominoes night with a jukebox playing guests’ favourite songs throughout the night.
Guests are also invited to test their musical talent at Saturday night’s live entertainment, karaoke and disco, with the pub keeping the party going until 1am both nights.
The Gunners Arms also shows live sport which is played throughout the week, with a special projector being used.
