A TRIAL date has been set for a serving Northwich police officer accused of stalking and assault.

Inspector Michelle Boyd appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, September 10, to answer two charges of stalking involving serious alarm or distress, and one of assault by beating.

The 50-year-old Hartford resident, who works for the force's Western area, appeared alongside her co-accused, Zoe Wallace, 46.

Oakmere resident Wallace stands accused of two counts of stalking involving serious alarm or distress.

The pair were expected to enter formal pleas, but due to an error by the Crown Prosecution Service, their legal teams had not seen the evidence against them.

Pleas were postponed until a case management hearing on October 10, again at Liverpool.

Accepting they would be entering not guilty pleas, Her Honour Judge Katherine Pierpoint set a preliminary trial date for the week beginning Monday, July 28, 2025, before releasing them on conditional bail.

The trial is expected to last between two and three weeks.

Boyd was arrested at Northwich Police Station on December 29 last year after allegations were made against her.

Cheshire Police's Western area includes Northwich, Winsford, Chester and Ellesmere Port.
