PUPILS and parents at a school in Chester were treated to a sweet start to the new school year.
The Firs School began the week with a warm welcome for families at the school’s annual coffee morning, where parents had a chance to share their excitement and emotions as their children got ready to return to school.
On Friday, parents were invited back to visit their children’s classrooms, participating in joint activities to help settle into the new routine.
To mark the end of the first week, all the children were treated to an ice-cream, adding a sweet note to a successful start.
Deputy Headteacher Millie Seger-Bernard comments: “The children have enjoyed coming back, with lots of happy, smiley faces. We’ve also been delighted to welcome many new children to our school community.
“Looking ahead, there is plenty to be excited about. All our extracurricular clubs, including a parent pottery class, kick off this week, as do the peripatetic music and drama lessons. The school is buzzing with anticipation for the busy term ahead, full of learning, sports fixtures, and special events.”
