CARIBBEAN restaurant and bar, Turtle Bay has announced that the wait for its long-anticipated Chester location is almost at an end.
The new location, which is part of the Northgate Development, is on the hunt for 55 new staff with its official opening date confirmed as Thursday, October 24.
Turtle Bay’s opening was delayed following a gas explosion in March 2023. A 39-year-old man is set to be charged for the incident which also resulted in injuries to three contractors.
The restaurant will be serving up its legendary rum, reggae and jerk which will be its first in Cheshire. Menu highlights will include its signature Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, Shack Stack Burger, Seafood Soul Bowl and an array of small plate options like Crispy Chilli Squid, Sweetcorn Fritters, Trini Doubles, and Mac & Cheese Bites.
Turtle Bay’s famous cocktail menu will serve up a slice of island life as refreshing classics get a tropical twist - the sundowner menu includes the Beach Zombie, Rum Sour and Rude Boy Revival.
The Turtle Bay Chester website will have information about exciting opportunities and chances to win tickets to experience the soft opening sessions for free.
Phil Dukelow, Regional Operations Director at Turtle Bay, said: “We're excited to be opening our doors this October. Chester has a thriving food and drink community, and we’re eager to introduce fresh talent into the Turtle Bay family. If you’re passionate about hospitality and ready to join the fun, we’d love to hear from you!”
The company’s search for new staff will culminate with two recruitment days taking place on September 25 and 26 at the Crowne Plaza, Trinity Street, Chester, CH1 2BD.
Positions including waiters, bartenders, commis chefs, and chef de parties are available with both full-time and part-time roles on offer. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply through the Turtle Bay Careers page.
