A SPECTACULAR night of sparkle and wonder returns to Chester on Saturday, November 2, as the Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Extravaganza takes place at Chester Racecourse.
One of Chester's most anticipated annual events, this spectacular not-for-profit extravaganza draws thousands to the historic Roodee for an unforgettable evening. Not only does it promise a spectacular display, but all proceeds benefit local charities, making it a night where fun meets community spirit.
This year, in collaboration with the Lord Mayor and Cheshire West and Chester Council, will feature two stunning firework displays, expertly choreographed to music. For families, there’s a special six-minute quiet display, designed for those who prefer a gentler spectacle. But that’s not all! The evening is packed with excitement – from live DJ performances to a fun fair, and captivating roaming entertainers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
All proceeds go directly to local charities, meaning your ticket isn’t just a pass to an amazing evening but an opportunity to contribute to the heart of Chester’s charitable efforts.
With three consecutive sold-out events and over £30,000 raised for charity last year alone, tickets for 2024 are expected to sell fast!
Councillor Razia Daniels, Lord Mayor of Chester, shared her excitement: “The Lord Mayor and the Chester Charter Trustees are delighted to sponsor and support this fantastic event. Organised fireworks displays like this allow our community to enjoy them safely, while also raising funds for local causes close to our hearts.
“This not-for-profit event sees the proceeds donated to local charities, including the Lord Mayor’s Charity Fund, which this year is supporting Dial West Cheshire, CHAWREC – The Unity Centre, St Mary’s Handbridge Centre, St Mark’s Church and Westminster Park Community Centre.”
Louise Stewart, Chief Executive of Chester Race Company, echoed the enthusiasm:
“We’re thrilled to bring the Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Extravaganza back for 2024. This event is a true highlight, bringing the community together for an evening of family fun while also making a real difference to local charities. We’re especially proud to support the Lord Mayor’s charities plus SHARE, Chester Lions, Bren Bikes, and Kids Bank, all of which do incredible work in our community. We can’t wait to welcome everyone for another spectacular night.
“I’d also like to extend my thanks to the members of the racecourse team who donate their time to work on this event so that the maximum amount possible is given to local causes.”
