A PRESCHOOL and nursery in Chester has officially opened.
A ceremony was held to mark the occasion at Upton Heath Preschool and Nursery and was officiated by the Deputy Lord Mayor of Chester, Sherin Akhtar.
She joined staff, parents, and community members to celebrate the new addition to the Upton area.
Set within the grounds of Upton Heath CE Primary School, the nursery aims to provide a nurturing and engaging environment for young children aged two to four.
The event was attended by the dedicated team from S4YC, who manage the nursery alongside other settings throughout Chester and North Wales, as well as the Principal of Upton Heath CE Primary School, Stuart Roberts, and the CEO, CFO and Trustees of The Samara Trust, who played a pivotal role in the refurbishment of the old nursery building.
"We are thrilled to officially open Upton Heath Preschool and Nursery today," said Deputy Lord Mayor Sherin Akhtar.
"This provision will serve as a crucial resource for families in our community. The facilities for both indoor and outdoor play are brilliant to support children’s education."
The nursery is thoughtfully designed with the needs of young children in mind, offering a range of activities tailored to promote learning through play, creativity, and exploration.
The team is committed to providing high-quality early years education, ensuring that every child feels valued and inspired.
Mr Roberts, principal of Upton Heath CE Primary School, said: "We are delighted to see the nursery open and are excited about the positive impact it will have on our local families. This collaborative effort demonstrates our commitment to working together to create a strong foundation for our children’s futures."
Mr David James, managing director of S4YC, said “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Upton Heath CE Primary School and The Samara Trust, offering the local community high quality, affordable early years education within the heart of Upton.
