THE OWNERS of a pub on the Wrexham/Chester border is set to open a new venue.
The team behind the Dog and Pickle, Lavister confirmed that contracts had been signed for them to take over the former Frankie and Benny's site in Eagles Meadow.
Frankie and Benny's closed it's doors at the site in Wrexham in 2020, as well as shutting the restaurant on the Plas Coch Retail Park.
It has remained out of use since the closure four years ago, but it will reopen it's doors under new ownership in November.
Owner Steve Lewis, told the Chester Standard's sister title The Wrexham Leader that he hopes 'Nouveau', a family focused bar and restaurant, will open it's doors in mid-November.
Steve said: "We're looking forward to getting open and setting up. It's been in the works for a few months, but now the contracts are signed it feels like we're finally getting somewhere.
"It's going to be called Nouveau, we were looking around for new names and that translates to 'new' so we decided on that.
"We're aiming to be open mid November and the aim is to be a family focused restaurant.
"The main goal is to offer something for families as their isn't too much of that in the city centre, especially if you wanted to bring your children with you.
"The refurbishment will take place over the next few weeks and we'll hopefully be ready for mid November.
"There's been a lot of new things opening at Eagles Meadow in terms of activities, so that is why we've looked to take this on.
"We're starting our recruitment today and we're looking for every level of staff. Hopefully we'll be looking to recruit around 25-30 staff members."
