A teenage boxing champion will not have to travel far for his next bout, as it will be at the Chester school where he studied.
Former Blacon High School pupil Tyler Thompson, 17, became Merseyside and Cheshire champion after winning his final in the 57kg category in Liverpool last Sunday .
The young prospect, known as Triple TTT, was congratulated by hundreds on social media following his victory.
Blacon Boxing Club head coach Ross Broadbent said: "We’re very proud of him; he’s done everything asked of him and he deserves his reward.
"He’s a credit to all the coaching staff that work with him every week we have a great team at Blacon Boxing club."
Tyler will now box again and represent Merseyside an Cheshire against the winner from Yorkshire.
Ross added: "This bout could have been anywhere in Yorkshire or Merseyside and Cheshire. A luck would have it we’ve just had confirmation it will take place in his old high school this Saturday (October 5).
"This is the first time England boxing have held such an event in Chester.
"People who love the sport of boxing, they are in for a treat. There will be some of the best clubs in the country boxing, and every contest will be a Merseyside and Cheshire champion vs Yorkshire champion."
Boxing starts at 12.30pm in the main sports hall in Blacon High School.
Tyler will be boxing in Ring B, second bout, for anyone coming to support him.
Ross added: "For Blacon Boxing club this is amazing that England Boxing are hosting events on our doorstep. We have been pushing the sport of amateur boxing in the area for the last eight years.
"Tyler himself has only been boxing 20 months and look how far this young talent has gone with hard work and dedication."
