Two men who vandalised several places in Chester by writing graffiti have each been ordered to pay hundreds of pounds in compensation.
Alfred Sankey, 27, and William Rowland, 24, both pleaded guilty at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, October 1 to several offences of criminal damage.
Sankey, of Castle Street, Caergwrle, admitted writing graffiti on a wall on the canal towpath at Northgate Locks on April 20, 2022, as well as a lamppost on the A51 Boughton on May 28, 2022.
Rowland, of Churchward Close, Chester, admitted writing graffiti on to the gates of the MacDonald New Blossoms Hotel, signage belonging to the New Look department store in Chester and the walls of City Metal UK Ltd, all on January 16, 2021. He also admitted writing graffiti on to a lamppost on the A51 Boughton on May 28, 2022.
Each defendant was handed a 12-month conditional discharge and must pay £296 compensation. Additionally, they must pay £85 court costs and a £26 victim surcharge each.
