A MUM from Ellesmere Port hopes a Halloween-themed event will help raise funds for a specialist piece of equipment for her daughter, who suffers with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA).

Kylie Cadwallader and her husband Elric have enlisted the help of some talented friends for a ‘creepy’ cabaret event ‘The Carnival of Lost Soul’ at Ellesmere Port Labour Club on Friday, October 25.

The adults only event (18+) will feature burlesque performances, pole dance artists and aerial hoopist, live music, and drag performers including the infamous Pretentious Dross as extra special guest host.

There will be hot food, a raffle, sin-tillating performances and festival glitter bar so you can get down with the undead!

Tickets are £8.00 general entry or £60 for a VIP table of 4 which includes a prosecco reception and food.

All proceeds will go towards the fund for the couple’s six-year-old daughter, Isobel.

Isobel was born prematurely and spent the first three months of her life in Arrowe Park Hospital and the Countess of Chester Hospital.

However, as she as she started grow, her parents noticed she was not hitting some of her developmental milestones on time, such as sitting crawling or standing.

Isobel was referred to physio and diagnosed with hypermobility, but the family later found that there was another issue.

On her GoFundMe page, Kylie explains: “We became very quickly aware that Isobel was in a lot to pain. We noticed she was only able to do her physiotherapy exercises for short periods of time before she would experience chronic pain through the day and wake up through the night inconsolable. As parents, Elric and I were lost and didn't know where to turn.

“Isobel was referred to the hospital and after a lot of investigation, general anesthetic, MRIs and other horrible procedures, Isobel was diagnosed with JIA (juvenile idiopathic arthritis). In order to manage the pain, Isobel has had cortisone injections and is currently on methotrexate injections.”

The family are now raising funds for a piece of equipment which will help to alleviate pain and help to combat the condition.

Kylie adds: “Our fundraising aim is to get enough money to buy a Galileo vibration plate. These pieces of equipment are around £6000.00. And just 12 minutes a day on on these plates, 3 to 5 times a week is like the equivalent of a whole physiotherapy regime, and it also helps to manage the excruciating pain she suffers during a flare up.

“This would make such a difference to Isobel's life and her day-to-day happiness. So, any help that you could give us would be so greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.”
