A Ju Jitsu club from Ellesmere Port is celebrating winning numerous medals for Great Britain, after taking students to the UNJJ World Congress and Championships in Otterbach, Germany.
Ellesmere Port Ju Jitsu Training Centre won medals in Open hand Katas, Weapons Katas, Sparring, Ground Fighting and Continuous Fighting, taking home an impressive 10 medals – seven gold, two silver and a bronze.
Club owners Sensei Steve Silcock and Emma Silcock said: "We're so incredibly proud of what the students have achieved. The training that goes into the preparation for the competition is immense.
"Each and every student has put in 110 per cent and we couldn't be more proud of them.
"We'd like to thank the other members of the club for helping with training leading up to the event. We have a very special Ju Jitsu family.
"We would like to thank all local businesses who contributed towards fundraising for the event, particularly Ellesmere Port Rotary Club for their help and generous donation."
If you would like to try Ju Jitsu, Ellesmere Port Ju Jitsu Training Centre offers free taster sessions at the Catholic High School on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings.
