A new mini-supermarket is planned a short walk from Chester Railway Station.
A licensing application has been submitted to Cheshire west and Chester Council for the property at 100 Brook Street, opposite The Deva Tap pub, to be converted into a convenience store with an off-licence.
The application, submitted by Raveendran Sinnathambi, says the building is "currently an office but is an empty retail unit and will be converted into a mini supermarket-style convenience store/off licence."
The new premises, if the application is approved, would "be selling confectionery, drinks, snacks, alcohol etc."
The upstairs of the building would be converted into a living space with two bedrooms.
Maximum opening hours proposed are 7am-11pm.
Closing date for the licensing application consultation is October 31.
