LAST night people in and around Chester ventured outside in the cold to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
One Thursday night the UK was treated to a stunning display of the aurora borealis , from North Wales to Kent.
The northern lights are a series of colourful lights that appear in the sky as swirls, streamers, or curtains. They can be green, blue, pink, or violet.
Here a few stunning pictures capturing the aurora borealis sent into the Chester Standard.
