Police have obtained a closure order for a property in Chester.
South Cheshire Magistrates Court in Crewe heard the application on Wednesday, October 9, for the property on Stratford Road, Blacon, to be closed, and granted the application.
The order means the premises is closed immediately and will remain closed for three months. The order is partial in that one named person is still allowed access to all of the property.
Posting about the court result, Chester Police said on social media: "This week, the Blacon Beat Management Team have obtained a partial closure order for an address on Stratford Road in Blacon.
"This order has been granted to target criminals harming the community through drug dealing and taking advantage of vulnerable people by cuckooing them.
"We will continue to target these criminals to make Cheshire a safe space for our communities."
Cuckooing is the practice in which the home of a vulnerable person is taken over by a criminal in order to use it to deal, store or use drugs, and/or to financially abuse the tenant.
