PUPILS at The Firs School, Chester donned yellow accessories to mark World Mental Health Day on Thursday (October 10).
Children at the leading independent school enjoyed celebrating HelloYellow day, organised by Young Minds UK to raise awareness of mental health in young people.
The children enjoyed talking about how to look after their mental well-being and talked about how to manage day to day life by making time for the things they enjoy. They shared their ideas with one another by visiting different classrooms, and also enjoyed a delicious ‘happy’ cupcake for pudding.
Headteacher, Mr David Girvan comments: “At The Firs School we pride ourselves on our ethos that happy, self-confident children learn and develop their social and emotional wellbeing.
“Our continued aim is to cultivate a happy, healthy learning environment and our pastoral care ensures the children engage more effectively in learning and participation in school life.”
