A Christian aid group has raised more than £1,000 for communities in conflict zones.
Chester Christian Aid Group held its annual 'Singing for Justice' service at St Mary’s Without the Walls in Handbridge, attended by around 70 people.
The event, open to all, was themed around peace, with a collection for the international development agency Christian Aid.
The charity partners with local organisations in vulnerable communities worldwide, providing aid in conflict areas, including food, shelter, and medical supplies.
Chairperson of the Chester Christian Aid Group, Trevor Dennis, said "The service went well.
"This year we decided to call the service 'Singing for Peace'.
"The reasons for that will not escape anyone; we are grateful to everyone who came along from our various churches and denominations to worship, pray and sing together.
"We gave everyone a Christian Aid envelope as they arrived, and put out buckets for donations – for both the Gaza Emergency Appeal and general funds.
"The grand total came to £1,071.12.
"It was a very moving service and we are already planning something similar for next year."
