A FLOOD alert is in place on a stretch of the River Dee following torrential rain.
Due to the weather conditions yesterday (Wednesday, October 16) flooding of roads and low lying land is possible.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Dee, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the River Dee at Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington.
Townfield Lane is expected to be cut off.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said: "We are closely monitoring the situation and monitoring rainfall and river levels.
"Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water."
The flood alert for the River Dee covers areas around Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington.
