AN UPDATE on several road closures has been issued after work by Council teams and emergency services.
Flooding resulted in a number of major routes suffering road closures yesterday (Thursday, October 18) which meant heavy disruption for motorists across Cheshire West.
The latest update from the Council confirms that some road closures are still in places but some routes have now reopened.
The A540 Parkgate Road (Townfield Lane to Blacon Avenue roundabout to A5117) has now been cleared.
Station Lane in Mickle Trafford has also been reopened, as has Main Road in Lower Kinnerton.
Little Stanney Lane in Ellesmere Port has also been made safe, and Acres Lane in Upton is also clear.
Ongoing closures
As of 11am, the following roads remain closed:
•Ashton Lane (section off A54)
•Oldcastle Lane, Malpas – between B5069 & Sunnyside.
•B5132 Longlooms, Great Barrow (Lampits Lane to Broomhill Lane)
•A540 Chester High Road (Gordale traffic signals and Parkgate Road).
•Seahill Road, Saughall from Wales boundary to Seahill Farm.
•Rocky Lane, Tattenhall between A41 and Bolesworth Road.
•Newton Lane, Tattenhall between Ice Cream Farm and Tattenhall Lane
•Soughans Lane - Purser to Tilston (by The Bull Pub)
Work is ongoing to reopen these flooded routes.
