FOUR fire engines and a rapid response unit were called to farmland near Chester this morning (Wednesday, October 23) after reports of a fire.
Fire crews from Northwich, Winsford, Chester, Nantwich and a rapid response vehicle from Nantwich arrived at the scene on Hollins Hill near Tarporley at around 8.20am.
A fire had started in a brick and timber barn containing straw bales and firefighters used hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.
Mechanical loaders were also used to remove unaffected straw bales.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
