MENSWEAR brand Oliver Brown will open its first location outside of London next week, as it takes up residence on the Rows in Chester.
Formed in Chelsea almost 30 years ago, the brand’s new store opens on November 4, the second store launch in under a year following the success of its City of London outpost.
Set within one of Chester's iconic half-timbered buildings at 32 Eastgate Row South, the new location was previously home to Mappin & Webb, with the Grade II listed building having been transformed into a two-floor emporium.
The Chester store will present the latest Autumn/Winter collection alongside a curated range of ready-to-wear pieces, formal and casual attire, including suits, jackets, trousers, shirts, and luxury accessories. The brand is also well-known for its range of tweeds which it is bringing to the area.
The store will also feature a Made to Measure hub located in a historic oak room, offering an exclusive tailoring service to clients. Additionally, as the official Top Hat Licensee for Royal Ascot, Oliver Brown’s signature antique silk top hats will be prominently displayed, emphasising the brand’s long standing equestrian heritage.
The launch will also be marked by the introduction of a limited-edition double-breasted covert coat exclusive to Chester.
The piece, which retails for £795, is crafted in olive with a velvet collar and featuring three jetted pockets with flaps, this coat is fully lined and made from 100% British wool, sourced from Bateman Ogden
Daniel Williamson, a well-known figure in the Chester tailoring scene, will manage the new store, ensuring the brand’s high standards of service and expertise.
Kristian Ferner Robson, Founder of Oliver Brown, expressed his enthusiasm about the new opening:
“Chester, with its rich history, beautiful architecture, and renowned racecourse, is a place that’s long been close to my heart. We know that many of our valued clients are from Chester and the surrounding region.
“It’s also our first store outside of London. With our racing connections, from Royal Ascot to being near Chester Racecourse, the oldest racecourse in the world, this felt like a natural next step for us.”
Indeed, as the official Top Hat Licensee for Royal Ascot, Oliver Brown’s signature antique silk top hats will be prominently displayed, emphasising the brand’s long standing equestrian heritage.
The first 30 guests to the store on November 4 (9am) will receive complimentary cartridge cufflinks. They will also be treating all who visit to a complimentary 10 percent off over the first 2 weeks.
