POLICE have closed a road between two Cheshire towns after a crash between two cars and a cement mixer lorry.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Clive Green Lane, Winsford, shortly after 4pm yesterday (Tuesday, October 29) following the collision involving a grey Vauxhall Insignia, a blue Toyota C-HR, and the HGV.

Firefighters on the scene are making the vehicles safe, while paramedics are assessing a number of people for injuries.

Cheshire Police have closed Clive Green Lane in both directions and have confirmed the driver of the Insignia has suffered minor injuries.

A police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 4.02pm to reports of a collision between a cement mixer lorry and two cars - a grey Vauxhall Insignia and a blue Toyota C-HR.

"The driver of the Insignia has minor injuries."

No other injuries have been reported at this stage.  

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Firefighters have been called to a road traffic collision involving two cars and a heavy goods vehicle.

"Crews are making the vehicles safe and assisting police and paramedics at the scene.

"The road has been closed in both directions while the incident is being dealt with."
