MANY will have already seen the bear-y special statue in Chester’s Foregate Street, but for those who’ve not yet had chance, there’s good news.

The Paddington statue has been a popular addition to the city centre since its unveiling earlier this month, with local school children, families and even comedian and presenter Sandi Toksvig making the journey to visit the marmalade-loving bear.

The iconic character is sporting his classic red hat, blue duffle coat, and naturally an emergency marmalade sandwich in paw.

It is one of 23 statues dotted up and down the UK and Ireland as part of the promotion for the forthcoming Paddington in Peru film, which comes to cinemas on November 8.

However, visitors will be able to grab a selfie with their favourite bear for a little longer it seems, with the statue set to be in place for the ‘foreseeable future’.

A spokesperson for the Paddington Visits Trail said: “Paddington will be there for the foreseeable future, there is currently no end date for the statue so there will be plenty of time for everyone to see Paddington.”
