A HUGE blaze at a caravan park in Queensferry involved over 400 tonnes of waste, the fire service has confirmed.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service added that the incident took nearly two days to come to a stop.
The Leader reported that fire crews and North Wales Police were spotted at the site on Friday (November 8).
Police issued a statement urging residents to stay away from the A494 Queensferry and the entrance to the Riverside way where possible.
Now, the fire service has confirmed the extent of the incident.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service say that the incident was called in at 8.23pm on Friday evening (November 8) and was not called to a head until just after midday on Sunday, November 10.
They added that around 400 tonnes of waste was involved in the blaze.
An investigation into the fire is now underway, they said.
A spokesperson said: "We were called to the fire at a caravan park in Queensferry at 20.13 on Friday evening, November 8. The stop was received at 12.05 on Sunday, November 10.
"The fire involved approximately 400 tonnes of waste. The cause of the fire is unknown at present, pending a fire investigation."
Luckily, nobody was injured during the incident.
