A SUPPORT worker in Chester is delighted after being highly commended at a top awards ceremony.
Rebecca Clarke was highly commended for The Care Home Newcomer at the Great North West Care Awards.
Her passion, dedication and performance in her work at Belong Chester was recognised as being among the best in the region.
Judges said: “Rebecca is compassionate, kind, and eager to learn, demonstrating exceptional leadership potential. She truly embodies the company’s values and will grow into an outstanding leader. Her warmth and dedication shone through.”
Also making the finalist shortlist for the same award, was colleague Kevin Byrne.
The pair support residents at the dementia specialist to live as independently as possible while enjoying later life, having joined the City Road village as part of its ongoing recruitment campaign.
Belong Chester general manager, Caroline Ray, said: “We are thrilled for Rebecca and her well-deserved commendation, and to have two nominations for the Great North West Care Awards is a massive achievement.
“Many of our team began their careers with us, starting out as support workers and then through training and mentorship, have progressed in seniority.
"We really are empowered with the autonomy to carry out our roles by putting people first and this enables us to provide the best possible care for our customers.”
The news follows Belong’s recent win the 2024 prestigious HealthInvestor Seniors Housing Awards, having taken the title for Best Health and Wellness Service for its holistic approach to care, breaking the mould of the ‘traditional care home’ by promoting an active lifestyle for customers.
