THREE fire engines were called to the hard shoulder of the M53 near Ellesmere Port last night (Tuesday, November 19) after a vehicle caught fire.
Crews from Chester, Ellesmere Port and Powey Lane stations arrived at the scene between junctions 10 and 9 on the northbound carriageway at around 5.20pm.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire and the carriageway was closed whilst the incident was dealt with.
Once casualty was check over by paramedics as a precaution.
