A GROUP of Travellers that set up an unauthorised camp at a car park in Ellesmere Port have been ordered to leave the location.
The group, which arrived at Westminster Car Park on Tuesday (November 19), set up camp with two caravans on Council-owned land.
Encampments on Council-owned land are managed by the Cheshire and Warrington Traveller Team, who carry out assessments based on welfare, obstruction of local services and cleanliness.
The group have now been served with a section 77 order – part of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 – which commands them to leave the location by an pre-agreed date.
Failure to do so can result in a possession order from magistrates’ court or further prosecution.
