A FLOOD alert is in place for areas close to the River Dee near Chester.
River levels are continuing to fall slowly on the River Dee but will remain high for the next few days.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said: "We expect the river to drop below Flood Alert level at the weekend.
"Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible.
"Areas most at risk include low lying land and roads around the River Dee at Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington.
"Townfield Lane in Farndon is expected to still be cut off.
"We are closely monitoring the situation and monitoring rainfall and river levels. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water."
