A CHESTER woman who was arrested when police were tipped off that she was driving above the legal limit for drink has pleaded guilty.
Katherine Pomfrett, 47 and of Chester Lakes in Dodleston, admitted one charge of drink driving on November 11 this year.
According to crown prosecutor Valeriya Tonkinson, police were informed that that Ms Pomfrett was behind the wheel of her car in Lache Lane in Chester shortly before midnight.
They attended and found her at the wheel, smelling of alcohol, where she recorded a breath test of 43mg over 100ml of breath, slightly above the limit.
Magistrates banned her for 14 months, with chairman of the bench Ian Williams stating that she was caught ‘based on information given, rather than erratic driving’.

He added: “Some of the readings we seen in this court, yours is a lot lower albeit over the limit and we know there wasn’t erratic driving.”
The defendant will be able to reduce her ban by completing a drink-driving awareness course, meaning she could re-apply for her licence by October 27, 2025 if she completes the course by August.
She was also fined £230 and ordered to pay a £92 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
