CHESTER schoolchildren got to learn the ropes at a team-building event in Delamere Forest.
The Firs Independent School in Chester, for boys and girls aged two to 11 years old, recently organised a trip for Years 2 and 3 to 'Go Ape' in Delamere Forest.
The children enjoyed a day of team-building games designed to develop key life skills such as communication, leadership and teamwork, and they had a great time exploring the tree top adventures, making their way through trees negotiating crossings and completing obstacles.
Rosemary Evans, headteacher at The Firs, said: "We believe that being outdoors and around nature goes hand-in-hand with mental and physical wellbeing.
"The children showed real resilience and team building skills when tackling the adventures. Despite the very wet weather the children all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the teachers did too!”
