DREADFUL weather didn't deter hundreds of hardy runners from racing round Chester's city walls on Boxing Day.
More than 400 runners took part in the annual event, which made its return after last year's event was unable to go ahead due to Covid restrictions.
The first event was held in 1972 and this year's course once again took runners from Chester Racecourse on to a lap of the historic City Walls, passing underneath the Eastgate Clock on their return to the racecourse.
Weather conditions were wet and cold, but fortunately not icy.
Crossing the finish line first was Daniel Cliffe of Hercules Wimbledon AC in a time of 20 minutes and 34 seconds. Fastest female was Carol Parsons of Cheshire Dragons in a time of 24 minutes and 12 seconds.
