PHIL THOMPSON is heading to North Wales as Hawarden Park Cricket Club stage at sportsman's evening.
The former Liverpool and England defender has become known for his punditry on Soccer Saturday alongside the likes of Paul Merson, Matt Le Tissier and Jeff Stelling.
And Thompson will be at Ewloe Social Club on Friday, September 21 to reminisce about his impressive playing days, which saw him win three European Cups, as well as his time as assistant manager to the like of Kenny Dalglish and Gerard Houllier.
Thompson, who will also reveal anecdotes from his current gig on Soccer Saturday, is to be accompanied by comedian Jed Stone.
The 64-year-old is the latest in a string of excellent events put on by Hawarden Park, who have managed to give the likes of Chris Kamara, Neil Ruddock, John Aldridge and Dean Saunders a platform to share their stories in North Wales.
