Teams from Cheshire have reached the regional final of the FA's Pokémon Futsal Youth Cup and are set to compete in Walsall next month.
The tournament brings together the best youth futsal teams from Cheshire, Birmingham, Cornwall, Somerset, Devon and Derbyshire with Tarvin Athletic featuring in the Cheshire contingent.
On May 7 and 8, Tarvin Athletic will compete alongside other teams from the borough such as Winsford Diamonds, Sandbach United, Timperley FC, Brooklands Dragons JFC, Warrington Futsal Club and Vauxhall Motors FC at the University of Wolverhampton's Walsall Campus.
Futsal is an exciting and dynamic game that focuses on technical skill in tight spaces. Played using smaller, heavier balls and with fewer players than in regular 11-a-side football.
The FA has team up with video game series Pokémon to encourage children to get involved with the game which is increasing in popularity.
Winning teams from the regional finals will go on to compete in the national finals to be held later in the year.
