THERE’S a County start and finish when it comes to Tranmere Rovers’ League Two fixtures for the new campaign.

Nigel Adkins’ Rovers’ will open their season at home to Notts County on August 10, while the campaign will draw to a close away to Newport County on May 3, 2025.

Tranmere, who ended last season in 16th position in League Two, travel to Port Vale for their first away game on August 17, while a home clash with Walsall (August 24) and a trip north to Carlisle (August 31) will complete the first month.

The Christmas period includes a trip to Doncaster Rovers on December 21, before Tranmere host Accrington Stanley on Boxing Day. Rovers will then be at home to Barrow three days later on December 29 and a busy spell comes to an end with the New Year’s Day visit to Morecambe.

Tranmere welcome Doncaster to Prenton Park on Good Friday, before travelling to Barrow on Easter Monday.

Rovers’ final home fixture is against Crewe Alex on April 26, prior to the last day trip to Rodney Parade to tackle Newport.

Fixtures are subject to change due to television coverage.

Tranmere Rovers will be ball number 35 in the northern section of the Carabao Cup first round draw, which takes place today at 11.30am.

The Carabao Cup draw, which takes place live on Sky Sports News, sees 70 clubs from the Championship, League One and League Two enter at the opening round stage. With the draw being split, Tranmere are one of 38 clubs in the northern side with 32 in the southern side.

Rovers have also discovered who they will be coming up against in the group stage of the EFL Trophy.

They’re in Group A of the northern section, alongside League One side Stockport County and fellow League Two outfit Accrington Stanley. The trio will be joined in the group by one Premier League under-21 side and this will be drawn live on Sky Sports News today from 2.30pm.
